DescriptionA cheesy baked pasta dish. Feeds 6-8. Ingredients 1 1 lb. box of ziti or mastacholli 3 tablespoons of butter 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 12 oz. cans of evaporated milk 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup shredded Jarlsberg cheese 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 2 tablespoons dijon mustard 1/2 cup packaged unseasoned bread crumbs 1/4 cups grated or shredded Parmesan cheese 1 tablespoons melted butter DirectionsHeat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 12x8 or 13x9 glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Cook the pasta as directed on the package. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and cook 2 minutes, whisking until smooth. Stir in evaporated milk slowly, while continuing to whisk. Stir in salt, then bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer while whisking 2 minutes or until it thickens. Remove from heat and add shredded cheeses and mustard, whisk until well blended. Drain ziti and return to pot. Combine ziti and cheese sauce, stir well. Place in the prepared dish. Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and butter, then sprinkle over the pasta mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, then allow to stand to cool. What is Jarlsberg cheese? It's a slightly nutty tasting swiss style cheese. Quite good on its own, but also great on crackers.
